Swift Resources

I thought it would be nice to compile a list of helpful resources for learning iOS development with Swift. I’ve used all of these at one point or another:

Websites

  • A Better Way to Learn Swift – a step-by-step course composed of entirely free resources that allows you to track and save your progress
  • AppCoda – one of my favorite tutorial sites (their beginning iOS development e-book is also great)
  • Coding Explorer – great tutorials on how to accomplish various tasks in Swift
  • Grok Swift – helpful articles and Swift tutorials by Christina Moulton
  • Hacking with Swift – fantastic, free tutorials that cover a wide variety of topics from authenticating with Touch ID to creating SpriteKit games
  • Learn Swift – excellent articles about Swift basics by Ayaka Nonaka
  • Ray Wenderlich – this site has a combination of free and paid tutorials on a variety of topics such as Swift, SpriteKit, and general iOS development (there’s a lot of good free ones!)
  • Swift Resources – Apple’s list of Swift resources, including official documentation and release notes
  • Teaching App Development with Swift – a curriculum for teachers that includes some great sample projects
